Do what is best for the community. Logo should be accompanied with an explanation behind it. And remember, NEM

Everyone has a circle of competency. Be frank if I may, the logo in the current form is put together by someone not competent at making logos. There is a lack in color harmony, form and originality.
Or hold a logo competition so best designers can compete to represent your ideas.
