The OCT and Nov units also ran the VRMs very hot
It seems that the parts are better than advertised.
If you look at the bottom of PCB can see some ground via's directly below VRM.
Ideal location for small heatsinks.
I JB welded some to one of my 28nm boards and it helped a bit.
(use non conductive adhesive unless you are sure heatsink is only covering GROUND via's)
My best air cooled success previously was making an air tunnel for high airflow above and below PCB.
http://i.imgur.com/9PZ95M8.jpgSince I had Saturns I had fans aplenty.
For nep will need more fans than whats delivered.
I threw some 6mm standoff extensions on a nep and it looks like it will have little effect as there is no way for fan air to get under there even with it raised a bit. There is also heatsink foam under PCB BTW.
I have not compared results yet as I don't expect to notice.
YMMV

I'm working right now on some modifications (I have raised the BCP 20 mm already and built a Fan beneath it {pointing upwards}), also have large heatsinks for VRM's and a wind tunnel with additional Fans on the backside of the box..... but I doubt It will lower the VRM temps below 80 C...
Later today I post some result.
