cause of the mining pool fork.

i guess they allow trading because when you only trade the coins on their plattform they dont get transfered
between wallets until you withdraw.

so they can leave trading open on the exchange with the coins actually deposited but they cant allow
deposits/withdrawals until everyone is on the right chain again.
