I just updated my wallet.
I removed everything from appdata except the wallet.dat file.
Now one of my vvv addresses shows me a balance lower than before.. much lower
I have checked the address on http://explorer.vvvcoin.com/ and there it shows the right amount.
Also the new wallet shows me downloaded 7645 blocks of 8340 blocks.
any idea?

Try reremoving and doing it again, some people are still mining on the wrong chain that's why. You are on a bad node
Don't forget to backup your wallet.dat a lot
