That's very funny.
I was so close to putting money in Gox at the end to buy on the cheap, but didn't.
I learnt a valuable lesson. The crypto virtual world really is
Wild West. I'm very happy to see NEM make an alpha and be the real deal.
It's this lawlessness that makes it the lucrative market it is. Remember that.
Back on subject though; I've already thrown this idea out, but i want to again because I don't think anyone paid it any mind:
Are there any plans to put into the NEM wallet, a means of setting up regular payment arrangements? Similar to some features most of us get with our own FIAT banking system (Direct debits, Automated Clearing House, etc)
I have yet to see this feature in any wallet before, and i think it's absolutely crucial in order to make a crypto a regular, convenient form of payment. It's beyond me why developers focus on messaging in wallets when it's a service people won't pay for when alternatives outside the blockchain suffice, and are free (Email, Instant Messaging, etc). I'd say lets focus on making it a competitive currency with features that mimic, rival, and exceed the systems we have today.
This is actually a good idea, as long as it can be implemented with minimal risks.. I'm not entirely sure how it would operate, but all my monthly payments are dealt with in this manner through one bank account and I have to say I'd even be inclined to pay slightly more than switch back to the old methods.
