How will they control the number of masternodes if there becomes too many?

who would mine then the coin ? when almost 1/2 of your work is just taken away ?
Is rewarding master nodes, and taking money from the miners the way to go ?

doubling the reward would lead to doubling the MNs. in terms of halving the MNs the reward would have to fall to 10%.
another option would be to raise the DRK amount per MN to 2000 DRK

learn the basics of cryptocurrencies.
if its not profitable anymore to mine DRK, hashrate would drop and therefore difficulty would drop until a point is reached where its profitable again to mine DRK. so no problem at all.
