Does my Doge wallet need to be up to date?(17 weeks...) I have my Litecoin wallet fully updated, and that one worked. 
Whether or not your DOGE/LTC/BTC client is sync'd or up to date does not matter what-so-ever.
The only thing that matters in claiming CLAMS is that the wallet had a balance mid-May when the distribution was sent.
