I noticed this too when I first got into cryptos (not long ago). It's total elite. They don't even want most people to be able to figure it out at first, so they can mine all the coins. But then later they want everybody to use their shit. It's actually pretty lame.
And yes, you're right. Most people won't want to go through all this crap for some weird geek-money.
I think it's huge problem with the (industry?).

But don't worry, once the government collapses and the grid fails, all this digital play-money will vanish into virtual thin air and we can laugh at them.
