You're seeking profit for mining then basta.
A coin is not made for miners, only for investors (the people who actually buy the coin), and if possible, to users. A coin is succesfull only if there is someone to buy it. Miners are not important, only a way to generate the coin.
If we cancel the seventh day, will it made the coin more attractive in any way so everybody want to buy it ? Seriously, i don't think so.

Anonimity, services, new stuffs etc : only that sort of thing will maybe make the coin rate rise
