I bought some maidsafe way back during the IPO and haven't done anything, but I did find my BTC address on the IPO spreadsheet way back on day 1. Is the only way to get them to import the private key to the BTC address I used to buy them into Omniwallet?
I don't like the idea of ever touching my private key so I guess I would have to send all my BTC to a newly created wallet before doing this?
I'm in the same boat. I haven't touched the BTC wallet I used for the IPO...and I am skeptical of Omni (only because I don't really like online wallets). Was going to do Masterchest but then they stopped supporting it.
At this point, I figure I'll just wait for the Safe Network to go live and the exchange for Safecoin. I'm not terribly worried about using the above since I have been known to leave coins on exchanges but would rather that I have somewhere on my computer for them to end up on.
So yeah...if you want to move them then creating a whole new wallet for your BTC is not a bad idea. As for moving the Maidsafe, I have no reason to think that Omni/Polo/Masterchest are unsafe...just that I have no need to want to move my Maid out of what is likely safe enough for now.
You could use omniwallet to "watch" your address. In doing so, you can see your maidsafe coins but not withdraw it.
I've used omniwallet to move my maidsafe to other exchanges. Seems to work fine.
