This can work, but I've also heard of people losing BTC by doing this.
All kinds of trading (forex, bitcoin/usd, altcoin/bitcoin, etc) are risky, and you could win/lose a significant proportion of your money in just a day.
If you do leveraged trading, you could double/lose all your money in just an hour.
