I've mined there for a day which should result in well over 0.5BTCD, yet still no automated payout. He also isn't replying to message or in the threads. Will stay away for now until he responses and clears things up.

I have tried it and I can say that if I mine LTC and exchange it for BTCD is x3 more profitable.

Yeah was a bad day for scrypt at xpool, but honestly, the payments have always been on time and the pool has been reliable since launch.  You really can't make an opinion on 1 or 2 days of mining on a new multipool, unfortunately many do which stunts the growth.  More hashes would definately help avoid the good/bad days.
