If you moved the wallet.dat (as in it was no longer there when you installed the update) you have a freshly generated wallet. Just wait till the client finished the sync, close it and replace the wallet.dat [1] with your backup. If you now start the client again with
-rescan it should have all your TX and coins. If you copied the wallet.dat or made a backup from within the client you just need to wait for the sync to finish.
