Does anyone know how bad the hit is bringing into the US for customs from Canada?

I know it really hurts going the other way.

I found some info which indicates under $200 no fee. Most info is 2008 or older.

Im looking for actual first hand experience. Theory vs Reality has bit many going the other way.
