Except if BFL existed in back then the Sheriff would have had those clowns thrown in prison a long time ago for running a con-man scam. The whole pre-order model would have been nipped earlier.
Except unlike the gold rush BFL is able to both sell the shovels then keep those shovels and mine with them instead of giving them to the miners.
In the gold rush it would be like someone using your ss hovel until its almost broken then selling it to you at market price to go make a new shovel.
The sheriff bribed off or BFL being the clowns they are claiming they did give the miners shovels if only a bit late lol.
