Great guide, thanks Dogie.

The btcguild site says to use:
stratum.btcguild.com:3333 (which would equate to http://stratum.btcguild.com:3333)

Your guide says to use:
stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333

Can you help us lesser experienced miners to know the reason for using "stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333"?

Also, The wifi works on my units, even with no antenna they're picking up my home wireless network. I have some laptop wireless antennas kicking around the workbench, I'm going to experiment and stick one on ... i'll update later.

Cheers.

For My S3's on the miner config page, I just use: stratum.btcguild.com:3333

That's what I'm using as well, but after seeing Dogie's post I'm wondering if there's a benefit to having it as "stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333"

Strictly a mining pool *shouldn't be* a http, because its not - its a stratum server after all. Any big pool will probably have some wizardry to redirect the http through. Or maybe someone has updated the protocol somewhere, but tldr there was a reason to stratum+tcp:// at one point.
