wouldnt running 340 watts at the wall constantly 24/7 cost about $5 aday to run, which is what these are making at today difficulty so why bother?

That's like $0.60 per Kwh! Can't be right.
I'm in the UK and we're on a "cheap" tariff £0.12/$0.20 per Kwh (£0.97/$1.63) and I make about £4.60/$7.70 per day in total at the current BTC value. But I do it because its an extension of my computing/electronics hobbies
