Let us look at this logically... If microwallet.org is/was offering it as a free service, what would motivate 3 others (who would replace microwallet) to also run it as a free service? There would have to be some skimming/commission for most people to be interested.

So, for example, I could easily run it, I have physical servers to run VMs for redundancy, balancing etc, all in a high tier data centre but if I had to spend time and resources I would need ROI, otherwise it would die (eventually) with no income, which appears to be somewhat the case here.

I would suggest that if it is becoming a chore to run the service to charge a handling fee, I am certain they would get many transactions passing through so a few satoshi per transaction would be a nice revenue stream. Especially when you consider many saucets give out over 100 satoshi every dispense, it would mean maybe one more dispense before someone would cash out, there is also the advert method, but not too many people would be looking at their balance after every dispense... so limited revenue there....
