There is no way the Octo developers are unaware of the rising levels of dismay being expressed on this forum/thread. They know. They are actively choosing to remain silent. You could take it as a sign of disrespect, but it's just as likely - possibly more so - that it's a sign of control and maturity.  
Whatever their next move is, we don't need it quick. We need it right.
