I remember instamining Vertcoin as a n00b, on Cryptsy, saying to myself "What is this Darkcoin that I always see near the top of the list for volume?"... That's marketing...
I remember spending far too much time on the Polo Trollbox shooting the breeze with the other traders, asking them what their long positions were, about 80% of them had DRK as part of their long portfolio, even though they were total wh0res on their short positions... That's marketing...
Word of mouth and exchange volume, IMO, is just as important as getting articles blasted all over the net... Some would argue it's even more important...
