My ideas to increase FRAC trading volume:
1) short term - play on the "Fractal" name - set up a tipping bot and pro-actively tip Fractal coins to fractal artists - there are a lot of them on deviantart and fractalforums.  Do some outreach to get established in that community.  Techies with GPU's are disposable income are a good base.  Tipping within a specific community will at least keep circulation up and make mining profitable and raising awareness.

2) Long term: Combined Frac Mining  / GPU Rendering pool.  This is a little beyond my tech abilities to build on my own, but I think it would be worth the work. The basic idea would be to team up with a developer for a fractal rendering app like mandelbulber, which has a distributed "net render" mode for rendering fractal animation videos.  Combine this with an X11 mining client so you could either mine for FRAC, or contribute your CPU / GPU cycles to rendering fractal videos.  This would create an "asset" to back fractalcoin with - you'd be leasing your GPU cycles to rendering graphics (Getting paid in FRAC).  Gridcoin might be a relevant implementation model here - they provide Gridcoin subsidies if you do distributed research calculations (BOINC)  along with the regular crpytocoin POW.

There's too many GPU's and too many coins out there and eventually ASICs are going to move in to any profitable algorithm. Eventually it will become worth it to re-monetize the existing network of GPU mining rigs thru the actual Processing of Graphics. Fractal art is a good place to start with a hybrid crypto-mining / rendering pool setup.  Combining crypto mining with leasing of GPU's paid in crypto is a nice closed loop for the right coin (like a coin that's already designed as an economic closed loop).

This is a long term project - I'm bagholding a fair amount of Frac and would be willing to contribute some promotional effort and some web dev as applicable, or to help hash out the idea.

(BTW The rich list server for FRAC blew up 2 weeks ago while I was on vaction (ran out of disk space and corrupted the DB's) and I haven't been able to set up a new one yet. I should be able to have it back on line this week and I apologize for the downtime).
