Actually no.
We just do not keep OUR (== community) eyes anymore on the pump and dump/trolling shithole the whole Altcoin section here on BTCTalk has developed into.
200 clones, shitcoins and outright scams per month battling for a top spot on that bloody [ANN] subforum... what a joke.

Get over to blkfeed.com or our subreddit if you are interested in BC, very active community and way, way better places to be Smiley

Problem is, this is still the first forum for people to look at. Even worse, the old BC ann thread (that has no link to the new one) is still #2 on Google.

we asked the bitcointalk mods several times to allow us a link to the new thread and other resources on the first and last page, afaik it was simply ignored every time.

You also cannot force people to post or even read in this crap forum anymore... with all the stuff going on a linear thread is simply nonsense. Of course we would be up to 2000 pages in no time again if everybody was using this thread _only_, especially if we did sort of live mintpal price reporting like many do, but for what?

btw, no one who sees google results will believe that a serious coin has no home but a single thread on a 3rd part forum ;-)

The first Time I heard about blackcoin was on a youtube video, so I  goggled it to find out what it was . As a result I found the old thread which seemed dead . That... plus the way the price was falling made me think for a while that this was dead coin.

Right, that's what I said earlier already too, when the old thread was closed. The old thread had many trolls, but it had weight and high search rankings. Thousand of sites link to bitcointalk.org which gives this forum a high ranking in google. Coins that are debated on this domain get attention.

That this is a 3rd party plattform doesn't matter at all. What matters is the attention the plattform gets. A Facebook page with 1000 posts has more attention than a small forum with 1000 postings because facebook has better reach, a twitter hashtag with 100000 tweets is more "a thing" than a single forum with the same postings. Also, look at pages of old alt-shit-coins. They all promise "the future" and "super secure, super fast, the best currency for 21th century" but what people, outsiders, say about it is important and if there is a community that gets new members constantly.

I know, that bitcointalk.org doesnt allow to link to the new thread, but that would just even more mean, that this thread has to be filled and linked to beat the old thread from search rankings.
