I have purchased a new S3 and Corsair CX600 psu. I set everything up and when I connected the PCI-E connectors to the S3 the psu quit working.
I was able to reset it and tested it and it ran o.k. but as soon as I connected it to the S3 it stopped again. I do not get any lights on the miner.
I am unable to connect to to the web setup presumably because the S3 is not getting any power. I will appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks.
I just need to clarify your statement. When you say "when I connected the PCI-E connectors to the S3 the psu quit working", I interpret that as turning your PSU on before plugging the PCIe power connectors into the S3. Is that what you were doing? I hope not. It should be the other way around (plug them in first then turn on the PSU). BTW, did you "jump" your PSU appropriately? Also, make sure that you plug in one PCIe power connector to each blade (and not plugging in both connectors to only one blade/one side).
I've been running my overclocked units (243.75M) with only CX500s at ambient room temperatures of up to 41.7C (107F) without skipping a beat. So, you should be more than fine with a CX600.
