Have you had any "donations" yet? Honestly, I think it's ridiculous to ask for free miners.  Even the gpus I had that were worthless for mining got a decent sum on ebay, presumably by people with free or cheaper electricity.  You should be offering a small sum for the miners OP.
Absolutely agree.

This is glorified begging behind a veil of renewable energy and environmental concern.

For all we know you live in Iceland and are selling them on ebay straight away.

You should consider giving 50% of any mining revenue back to the person who sent it to you, which would seem a fairer deal.

I reside in Australia and have a 1.5kW grid connect system plus another 400W off grid (for technical reasons to do with the power companies).

I am not begging for miners to make cash, as an Engineer I would prefer to see the equipment still hashing rather than collecting dust. As for re-purposing gear, I am always tearing down old PCs, rebuilding and giving them away to those in need or do free repairs to PCs & laptops. The intent of the rebuilds is not to produce world winning gaming machines on the cheap, most of the time they barely scrape together as a linux based media centre, but they do make decent home PC for those whom cannot afford a machine.

As for the mining revenue, I do not expect to make anything more than a handful of satoshi's when on a pool. It is more about using otherwise dead machines to assist with securing the networks or I could prop up a dying coin if asked too.
