An average user creates transactions volume, spreads the word about the coin and does many useful things. A currency won't be able to survive long term just by relying on a few loyal (long-sighted) users. If DRK aspires for mass-adoption, the average user should be catered to as well. Also your example of Bitcoin doesn't fit in the current picture. There was no competition back in 2009 hence people interested in digital currencies had no other options than stick to Bitcoin.

There simply are no "average users" yet.  Maybe for Bitcoin as there are real places to purchase things with your BTC, maybe, just a little bit, lightcoin and dogecoin, but not really.  Everyone in alt cryptos is an investor at the moment, sans very few exceptions.

Yet it is the "average user" that will make or break us.

So yes, Darkcoin is currently speculation.  To get those "average users" you must think customers, not "average user" and why would they want to bother with Darkcoin?

Of course, I'm here because I think our customers (and I'll be one of them, because having hung out here the past 8 1/2 months, I've realized that I DO need my privacy!  Heck, I'll be a customer to "SafetyNet or ISIS, or whatever" because I no longer think my dear cousin who has always been privacy psycho is paranoid, LOL. ) have plenty of needs that we can fulfill.  The first will be businesses, because they understand.  Then, the word will start to spread, and we will begin to draw in the true "regular users" which will be the backbone of the system.

BTW, how can the data of the internet be passed through 1000 masternodes without clogging things up?  Is that even remotely possible?  I'm not technical, so I'd appreciate any insight.  Thanks Smiley
