4 hours later I received reply from Jered which I've mostly blacked out:

Current payment status is unchanged; I have not been paid.

End of this week I expect to email him again.  I'm a patient person.  I realize he has to be very careful not to lose MY money being scammed by someone else when he buys BTC.  I'll be able to be strung along for a long time as long as I believe he is honest and provides me timely replies and updates.
