Lugansk People's Republic refuses to relinquish control over Lugansk/Russian border to Kiev. Igor Plotnitskij, head of LNR, had this to say:
"I've already said that any attempt to turn the Misk accord against us will not pass. We signed this accord as an agreement about peaceful co-existence. It will not be allowed to isolate or strangle us. We will not give away the our borders with brotherly Russia to hostile control. But we are ready for an economic competition with Ukraine. The whole world will soon see, that without the working Donbass, Ukraine is doomed to mass poverty and degradation."
http://ria.ru/world/20140909/1023377982.htmlVery good move. Frankly, they should ask all the Ukrainian forces to get out of both Donetsk & Lugansk to show they have goodwill & stay away 50 km from the border.. Ceasefires are for confidence building with the Donetsk & Lugansk forces and after the genocide done to them, it's the Ukrainians who should show they are serious with their desire for peace.
Of course, we know they are not serious, the bankrupt West won't allow itself to be beaten (
though they are already beaten
). So continue with the charade in Donetsk & Lugansk but the movements in other areas should start, especially in Zaporizhje. Anyway, they are not covered by the ceasefire agreement.
While the Ukraine fiasco is just a small event in the bigger drama at play, it's best not to allow the Ukrainians much room for delusions. Clear thinking is not an attribute of Ukrainians, that's why they have been dominated throughout their history. What's funny is they were too stupid to hitch their final claim for glory on a crumbling empire, and it's obvious they never knew better. Neither will they ever will.
Good thinking , Lugansk.
