I probably could have used a better term than 'changing the world'. On reflection it could be read that I was belittling the efforts in SE Asia which was not my intention at all.

I think the reason the twitter and facebook tipbots thing is a good idea is that it is something that everyone can do straight away. It's a simple undertaking and it could bring a lot of people in who are new to crypto.

I appreciate another poster's views that there may not be a lot of pick up from people who are tipped. The whole thing obviously needs a little more thought.

One thing I have to comment on though is all this 'We need to find people who need Karma' stuff. Right now nobody needs Karma. Nobody.

Insisting on finding people who need Karma is a waste of time and energy.

I would strongly disagree with that.

Finding your market is the core purpose of any business. That is the nature of business: finding unmet consumer needs and filling those needs (or doing it better than others).

Can you imagine FedEx saying, "Insisting on finding people who need FedEx is a waste of time and energy"? Or any other product/service?

Yes, there are lots of people who need to transfer money (or other stores of value) from one place to another cheaply and efficiently. Many more than need crypto. That's why I say "Karma or something like Karma". Why not Karma?

Did anyone in Kenya "need" M-PESA before they came on the scene? Of course. Because the consumer need was there.

Tipping doesn't seem to be a good way to really grow an economy and a coin. Yes, tipping exists and has been around for a while. That's how we can tell it probably doesn't work (because it isn't proven to be successful). Did it work for Dogecoin? It may have destroyed their economy, as I mentioned before they blew up.
