since you are obviously new to the crypto world, let me explain it to you:
you can
a) pay someone to say "everyting is okay" and hope to not be caught
or
b) pay someone to outline existing attack vectors and work with him/her to close these ones.
"security" is never a state, or a point in time.
its a work in progress, and every peer-reviewed paper, pointing out gaps, and how to close them is a step in the right direction.
the paper sums up existing problems in the PRE-RELEASE version, but Atlas is also working with the devs to close them.
it is a pretty pretty picture.
// e.g. its safe to say that the pairing-process will be changed to harden the network against sybil-attacks (make it more expencive/harder to coordinate)
