Just so you all know, #xcp is a thing... 
IRC is a much better tool for open source projects than Skype.
You can have chat logs, you can choose between multiple clients, and you can join without being invited.

people can also grab your IP and steal your bitcoins... hasn't happened to me but I know people
seriously if you are going to do IRC clock your IP or use TOR
