Can you provide a few more details?  Hard to diagnose the issue at the moment without those.  What OS?  If Windows, using the exe or the zip download?  Does your wankcoin.conf include addnode=node1.wankcoin.com and addnode=node2.wankcoin.com?  Do you have a firewall blocking connections to port 9336?
