So far I have not noticed anyone on any bitcoin thread pointing out the importance of this mining factor.

Their hydroelectric power is ecocidal as f*ck. It comes from the hydroelectric dam which was built upon decimation of the environment's flaura and fauna as the basis of the design.
And also it's terribly ecocidal for the existent ecosystems, up and down the river.
