I hate too, but Scrypt never die because lots of Scrypt Asics (they secure network) people buy Asics and need some returns. On VGA you can mine lots of algos and You just switch to another coin and forget about previous.
I buy 2 x 5.6 Greedseed 11.5 Mh/s  = 15 x Ati R9 280x

Asic = 500$ ~ 100w ~ 11.5 Mh/s  = Ati 4500$ ~ more then 4600W ~ 11.5 Mh/s
