Well they didn't. Maybe because Muslims not Jews are being seriously discriminated against in the USA.
Also, maybe cause they were "religious" they got away with more than you or I would? God knows priests get away with a lot as well!
Certain cultures are being discriminated for a reason. And there are good causes for doing so.
