I can answer that, in regards to XST the weakness mentioned doesn't really matter, as TOR is basically being used to hide your IP address. It's not about using the onion network itself, other than hiding your IP address. To track your IP address the fed would wouldn't bother unless you where doing something like trying to buy drugs, or planing terrorist acts. Just routing your XST transaction through the network would most likely go unnoticed.
