Yup, its outside. Why pay to pump the heat out of my house (air conditioning) when I can let mother nature do it for me? Been like that for at least 8 months with no significant problems.
No rain?
Or just sheltered some other way? It looks precarious, but if it has worked that long there isn't any reason to change it.

Yeah, we got a carport. and the sides of it are closed off with weather-proof tarp, so its mostly shielded from the elements (wind/rain/snow/etc)

The bottom rig can slide out if I need to take it inside for maintenance, but otherwise it is tightly secured. The top one -could- be knocked over if someone really wanted to, but I'm really the only person that ever uses that entrance.
