So is XChat going to be a separate app from the wallet? Or do you mean like a seperate tab?

I think it is a separate tab in the same app. The icon on the bottom of the screen pic furthest to the right looks like a chat icon.
Yes, it's all one app at the moment. But differentiating is likely as we approach the official public launch.
Maybe it would be good to make it a messenger app with payment option. So the messenger functions would be the main thing. Not saying that the wallet part should have less functuonallity.

+1. Chat is where it's at for user adoption. Will the chat app have emoticons and all the other toys the kids like?
+ 2. Surely we want to keep the payments option in the chat app. This is where we are going to stand out.
Also I'd agree its gotta have emoticons, ability to send pics etc etc and be up to scratch with the top chat apps people use currently.
