I went out on a limb and authorized a $1,000 USD via BTC donation from Bitcoin100 to help them produce this documentary.  Cry Cry Cry

Oh my god, I had no idea they collected that amount of money and ripped off Bitcoin100 too. That's about $25,000 at today's exchange rate and about $50,000 when they collected it. I'd say that deserves some negative trust or the immediate delivery of a damn good documentary!

Assuming coins where sold at daily lows same day they were withdrawn it sums up to roughly 16500$.

That said if they sold same day...

How much money do you need?

To make this movie as awesome as it can get, we need to collect about 10.000 EUR or 13.000 USD in BTC.

With this money we can traveler to conferences, developers, entrepreneurs and miners all over the world!

If we get less then that, the movie will still be cool, but not as many interesting people and places will be in it, so yeah, if this

documentation shall reflect the international concentrated power of the Bitcoin project, we need to raise those funds!

What happens with the money left over?

If there will be any funds left over after the project is finished, the final movie produced, all DVDs and Thank-You gifts made and shipped,
all festivals applied to and all television networks  mailed, all open positions cleared and accounted for,
then eventually left over funds will be distributed among the makers of this movie and/or towards the next project,
possibly a mixture between those two. A corresponding agreement will be published in time.

Can I use your movie for my own project?

Yes! You will be fully able to utilize every bit and piece of what we release for your personal, corporate or otherwise oriented projects!
Everything will be released under a free-to-use license to enable maximum freedom. You can publish, edit, sell, delete or do whatever you want with everything you find among our footage!
Please see the license agreements for further information, once we have decided which one suits this project best.

Anyone received Thank-You cards so far?   Undecided

I pmed Spekulatius to post an honest update on project status.
If he doesn't answer or post next time he logs in  - negative trust rating should be considered.
He could at least publish the footage as promised so other people can try their best to make a short doc out of it.

here's german page of his media school for the project:

Maybe I give his instructor a call and ask wtf is going on if Spekulatius shows no reaction.
He seemed like a nice guy when I contacted him last year and offered my help so I want to give him at least a chance to explain.

Rise and Rise of Bitcoin gets dropped on itunes tomorrow right?  How many of you are going to buy it?
I'll definitively buy DVD and perhaps a shirt, don't like the altered logo on it though. (http://bitcoindoc.com/store)

Thats great! Looking forward to this one. More and more of these will come out. I mean we havent even touched on the overall system this will come to offer.

I'm still waiting for release date of "Life on Bitcoin" which seems much more mainstream oriented and could spread like a wildfire with a good marketing campaign.
