ASIC quality?

I am a 7970 owner with 1x 7970 and 1x 5850 for mining.

What exactly is ASIC and ASIC quality?

GPU-Z's newest version(v0.5.8) has an ASIC qaulity reading that when used gives your card a score. Right click on top left corner, scroll down and select Read ASIC quality...

 My Gigabyte 7970 gets a 70.9%.
