Im both depressed about this all, and oddly uplifted by some recent posts - things about opportunities, people being helpful.
On one hand, things with octocoin have gone abysmally bad of late. Im still stunned.
On the other hand, theres still positivity in this thread. And it seems genuine.
Now, that positive attitude wont amount to a damn thing if the devs never deliver anything. But if they do, octocoin could still be so great. This community really is very solid.
All we need is for the devs to deliver...
there's always still the option to fork and take over the blockchain if the devs never show back up.
Yeah but this stuff also killed more than one coin before, because no one was preparing a takeover right on time.
Any volunteers for a takeover yet ?
Like I said in an earlier post I, and the rest of the 'council', would be interested in making something of this coin but I don't have an interest in hijacking it. If there's no news by mid-November I'll start making moves to find people who are interested in helping make 888 into something other than hopeful promises. After about a week of that (talking with the interested parties and trying to find some Devs to to take on the technical aspects of coin creation), if we are looking like we could take things forward I'd be happy to let the wider community know what my idea is. So by the end of November we should know if there's a community willing and able to take the coin over. I'll drop Richie an email letting him know this and ask him to let us know before he ultimately de-lists us, giving us some time to figure out if we're going to make something of 888 and hopefully stopping us from having to try and get re-listed.
I think FrameLAlife is in but not sure about anyone else. Now is as good a time any any for people to say they'd be interested in in joining up. I think if it's taken over it should be controlled by members of the community and not just handed to a 'dev' to make it work. (If a dev had an idea with a USP they wouldn't help us, they'd make their own coin).
