I do not agree, there are many alts that have developed further upon and also have good security.
The only reason bitcoin would be better is because of the adoption rate. But with LTC and Doge you can buy a lot as well these days, probably over 100,000 merchants accept them. Bitcoin is so slow, shouldn't take 45 minutes to transfer, many coins transfer in one or two minutes.
