Why would you even bother signing up for 5 cent per post? No offence to OP, but those rates are miserable.
Its a good deal for newbies, and their only option. If newbies are posting anyways, why not make a couple bucks per week until they can join the big leagues.
Newbies may not know well the waters, and having a paid signature will make their mistakes less forgivable.
Increase your like-hood of being banned only to get 5 cents/post is not worth, in my opinion
