My vote goes for +1 merged mining.

As far as I understand the advantages easily outweight possible risks right now. And even the risk of another hard fork: Drak and his team have just proven that they're more than capable of doing a smooth fork without any problems. I'm not a miner, but as a trader I love a secure/robust network, especially if the further adaption of Viacoin should flourish. Long story short: just do it. My 2 cents.
