Folks, there is a paper wallet generator here.... but it hasn't worked since the last hard fork. Or rather, it works, but there is small pesky little issue that you can't reimport your exported coins
http://digiaddress.org/I've have been in touch with the dev of this site, who has indicated to me that it is an easy fix.... but as far as I know he hasn't implemented it yet. He is one of the Digibyte DEVs too I believe, it's "xploited", and he has been active on this forum in the past.
Here are the last communications I had with him via e-mail:
"
..... I'll fix it up this weekend. Jared mentioned it to me beifily but he didn't explain the issue. I think I know what the issue is, just need to figure the best way to solve it. Ohhhh I totally know what the issue is. Just came to me. Lol sorry don't mind me, I'm lacking sleep.
To, confirm (if you can) it worked up until the algo switch?
No dgb nessicary. It will up fixed this weekend. I'll give you an email to let you know...."
...and I asked "Just to clarify, if I export a bunch of coins to a paper wallet, then throw it in a safe deposit box and forget about them for 10 years until DGB are suddenly worth $100 each (yeah, I know, wishful thinking)... how do I know that I can still import them again after god knows how many wallet updates have occurred in the meantime?"Answer:"
You'll always be able to import them. 100 years even :-)
Without getting to heavy into the details (unless you want me to) your private key is available in different formats. Like WIP or base 58 but they all ultimately come from the same original private key. The format you try to import into your wallet is in the WIP format.
This is where the issue is currently, with the conversion of your base key to a WIP key the base key is still exactly the same but is being converted slightly differently now.
What I can say with certainy is that your base key will always be valid. Bitcoin is based on a public cruve encryption and didibyte being from bitcoin is the same. So the conversion from one format to another might change over time but you will always be able to go back to your base private key and convert it into the for a you need.
That's in a worst case senerio. In reality it will just work. This change was a accidental overlook from the original import of the myriad coin code base. Basically what I'm saying is its highly unlikely to happen again bit if it did its always possible to import them again"
So.... it seems the wheel doesn't need to be reinvented here, just needs a spoke repair... anyone know xploited personally that can ask? He hasn't responded to any further e-mails since October.
