How does one determine which lead is pos and which neg on the mining board and the PSU breakout board.

The problem is, I have seen different TMs with the pos lead (black wire) in BOTH positions, so a picture alone without data as to where it goes and why is a possible accident, unless you can hook the leads up to either post.
