OK. So I've tried everywhere. First off please don't tell me that my miners are junk...it's all I could afford right now. Second...I've got 4 Asicminer Block Erupters and 1 Antminer u2 (?). Yes, they're plugged into a powered USB with a fan on them. I've tried bfgminer AND cgminer and can't get either of them to work. I've followed the instructions that i've been able to find...which is few and far between and old. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Also, when I do get the cgminer (i think) to run, it says that they're too slow to be an icarus and calibrating, but then I get nothing. I see that they're working, but that they're not totally connecting. I have class today so it will be a while before I can respond again...but I do appreciate anyone willing to help me and provide some guidance!
Thanks in Advance!
What OS are you using? Standard installation goes like this:
1. Download Zadig (
http://zadig.akeo.ie/ ) for OS you are using.
2. Plug in all USB miners into working USB hub.
3. Run Zadig and install USB driver, you might need to select Options > List All Devices in order for USB miners to show up on central drop-down menu.
4. If all is done correctly you should see five CP2012 USB to UART Bridge Controllers added to your system (Control Panel > Devices and Printers).
5. Download and use older version of CGMiner (
http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/4.1/ works flawlessly for me).
If you are using WinXP there is an issue with all Asicminer USB Erupters having the same ID and causing WinXP to not recognize more than 2 or 3 devices, to fix that you will need to reprogram miner EPROM with different ID for each device.
Also if you are not do 1 at a time. It is slower but you will make sure each one is working this way. It will also make sure your powered hub is powerful enough.
