So Ive seen this PC for sale in a local free ad paper and just wanted to know is it any good for mining.
It has a Xeon 5680 processor ( the net tells me that this is a high end processor (if not a little old! ), 12GB Ram , ATI 6870 GPU + Nvidia GTX 470 GPU , 120GB SSD and 1000W PSU
Is it any good for CPU mining ( or is that long dead now )
Is the GPU up to it for mining? after reading around here Im guessing I will need another ATI GPU and will have to ditch the Nvidia ( is this completely true? )
would it be possible to mine using the CPU AND the 1 ATI GPU?
or should I just forget it and get a QUAD FPGA
I think from reading here that FPGAs are nearly dead now thanks to ASIC units, but the ASIC units are going to cost me an arm and a leg ( and I need both my arms and legs
)
