what kind of funds should be raised for this? we can do a community pot deposit for campaign payouts.

Here is my idea:
Lets say we get everyone who participates to buy in with 5 XMG each person, and the top 5 miners of some criteria will receive the ranking rewards for their efforts. So it gives miners a chance to compete for better performance; thus rewarding them from both mining, and possibly winning the upper ranks of the POT.  If 500 people participate in the entry fee of 5/XMG to join this campaign, this will fund the campaign in a total of 2,500 XMG.  This can allow for a scale of rewards for the TOP 5 miners that can compete to be placed in the top 5 rewards.

I have someone working on this model to fixture it with Magi's network!
