It's the same with all manufacturers and you shouldn't just bash BMT for it, the fact is, miners need testing on the live network to ensure the product is sound.
Well, also the btc testnet or even an ad-hoc coin based on sha 256 is enough for testing new asics
Clearly all the manufacturers are not following this path cause they are basically mining in the best period of the entire lifespan of these devices.
