How about the PCI-E connectors?  Does it not matter that they are off one cable?




It's best to use two because it will reduce the heat in the cables less chance of a fire hazard. However if you keep the miner and psu cool you should be fine.
One cable should certainly not be used. You need to use at least two, however four is best to prevent them from getting too warm. (although two should realistically not be an issue)


To be fair it depends on the gauge of the wire and the amps flowing through it. That is what determines how many cables you will need and not just that but also the environment the miners are in. So I guess your mileage will vary

Also setting freq a little lower hashes lower but uses less power.

I can run 3 s-3's on an evga 1300 g2  psu 

 but not at freq 250 they hash at 500gh each and the load is 1280 watts

at freq 237 they hash at 475gh each and the psu can handle the load of about 1210 watts

these vary from pc to pc.
